some good honest scrap... Wow, I don't have a post header for something like this. I would like to give a nice big shout out to The Violet Fern! Your comment yesterday really brightened my day. Thanks so much for passing along the Honest Scrap award. I hadn't heard of it before, but it sounds fun so I'm game to play. I recommend everyone to stroll on over to The Violet Fern's blog. This former Mainer is not only a fellow gardener, but also a great soul. I laugh because she even writes about how she captures indoor bugs and relocates them outside and about keeping a garden scrapbook. What a hoot, I do the same.
Alrighty, onto the rules of the Honest Scrap award (so I'm told... rumors are you can break them if you dare.)
1. Brag about the award.
2. Include the name of the blogger who gave you the award and link back to that blogger.
3. Choose a minimum of seven blogs that you find brilliant in content or design.
4. Show their names and links and leave a comment informing them that they were prized with this award.
5. List at least ten honest things about yourself. (TEN?!?)
Okay, did I complete #1 yet? Hmmm, did I mention that accordingly to Google folklore, the Honest Scrap Award has been passed along to over 300,000 folks?
I'd like to share these seven favorite daily reads:
fresh new england — This New Englander's blog is one of the most beautiful love stories of when food meets photography. El not presents her recipes with gorgeous imagery and styling, she also paints fabulous stories with her words.
poor girl gourmet — staying in the Massachusetts realm, Amy's blog about high quality food on a low budget is a must read. The girl just created her own capers out of nasturium seed pods... how cool is that?
greens & berries — relax with a cup of tea and let yourself be transported with Elaine's beautiful images of her balcony garden. I remember first finding her blog back in the spring when she was growing radishes in pots.
four green acres — June is a new blog friend who's site I am glad to have found. A former Brooklynite, June now lives up in Maine living the good life. You have to check out the wood fire pizza oven they just built. I'm totally jealous.
grafix muse — Another new blog friend, Grafix Muse is a fellow designer and neighbor to boot. I'm enjoying following along as she preps her garden for winter. Can't wait to find out what she's planting for spring!
flighty's plot — Flighty's gardening prowess has totally turned me onto some varieties of plants and veggies I haven't seen before. I always stop by to see what's new to learn.
idaho small goat garden — This family is doing it all, from chickens, to gardens, to miniature donkeys??? I love to follow Heather's adventures each week.
Now to the confessional... 10 things you always wanted to know, but was afraid to ask:
1. my dream of dreams is to turn my passion for organic gardening into a full time job. to one day have a small farm would be incredible. oh, and if that farm came with a little pond where ducks hang out, well that would just be icing on the cake.
2. i'm 5' 2".
3. my first job out of college was for Greenpeace (field canvasser... I basically got chased off people's yards throughout the tri-state New Jersey/Philadelphia area).
4. when i was 22, i was a wine steward on a ranch in Jackson Hole, WY.
5. i met my husband while working as a cocktail waitress at a Portland brewpub... he was the brewer. we had our first date 13 years ago and have been together ever since.
6. i had a dog named Jiggy.
7. my dream car is a 1972 Ford Bronco. not a very green choice, but this is just strictly dream speak.
8. when i was five, i stole a pack of grape scratch-and-sniff stickers from FAO Schwartz.
9. i love good music. on any given day, i'm shaking my groove thing to Fleet Foxes, Wilco, The Kinks, Neil Young, 10,000 Maniacs and Radiohead.
10. i grow vegetables i'm not even that crazy about eating simple because i love seeing them grow and develop in the garden... think baby eggplants.

How sweet (and a delightful surprise) to see my blog in your list! Thank you.
OK, I'll play along -- but it may take me a couple of days to come up with my list of 10 confessions. The 7 blogs -- that will be easy.
I enjoyed reading your 10 confessions and learning a bit more about you. A couple of comments on two of them: #1 - I have no doubt it will happen. #10 - YES, me too!
But before I start confessing, I'm going to check out the other 6 blogs you recommended. All new to me and all sound lovely.
Hi Allison- Thanks so much for the nice award! I am honored to be included among those other wonderful blogs. Thanks you for thinking of me, now off to think of confessional!
Heather
Thanks for including me in your list although I'm none to sure how much gardening prowess I actually have!
I always drag my feet when I get tagged to do one of these but I will do it. I also always cheat somewhat as I never nominate others but leave it open for people to do if they so want.
Your own list makes interesting reading and I shall have to have a think about trying to make mine likewise! Flighty xx
Ha. I had a dog named Tippy - can you imagine? Jiggy and Tippy. I am glad you and I connected, too. You will have that organic farm! I enjoyed your scrap. Have a great weekend.
Thanks so much for the tag! I am looking forward to visiting the other blogs you listed.
Well, Hello. I'm a blogging pal of Flighty's and he sort of nominated me to do the Honest Scrap Award too. So I linked back to see who this Tasteful Gardener was and what a lovely surprise...another gorgeous blog I hadn't seen before. Greetings from N Ireland, I shall be back :)
Hi Allison,
I've been remiss in my blogging and blog-visits these last couple of weeks - thank you so much for the award - I'm so flattered, and I will get on my Honest Scrap post! And you WILL make your passion into a job - I know you will - just look at all the talent you have! There's no way it won't happen!
Take care,
Amy
