i don't know what i'm doing wrong with my cosmos because for the past ten years, I rarely get them to bloom during the summer time. i always get them in the ground on time, but they prefer to wait until September to begin their lovely show. i've been totally enamored by the simplicity of the white cosmo for so long. it's a definite for next year's garden.
I'd say that you're doing nothing wrong as mine, this year at least, have only been in bud and flower the past few weeks! The stated flowering time is July through October. Next year I'll keep an eye out to see when they start blooming! xx
